Ginny’s Story

I had been making jewelry for years. I wanted to make some colorful stepping stones for my garden and liked the bright colors of stained glass. Then a friend requested a wall mosaic piece for his newly remodeled patio. With an old, hand-me-down glass grinder and an box of stained glass, I was hooked. I love working with stained glass for it’s vibrant colors and textures and it lends itself to a wide variation of design possibilities .

Let me make something beautiful for you.

The Process

After a themed image is selected it is enlarged to a specified size. A pattern is made for the stained glass, then hand cut and ground to smooth all the edges. The pieces are glued onto tile board which has been mounted on a beautiful redwood frame then colored grout is applied, creating the mosaic. A weather resistant stain is applied to the redwood frame and a sealant applied to the grout making it appropriate for displaying outdoors.

No additional framing is needed.
